8 Ways of Controlling a Cranky Child
5. Engage your kid in a hobby or a skill
Boredom can be one of the reasons for crankiness in children. By engaging your child in a hobby, will not only help you in honing a skill but also in ensuring that there is no space for boredom. This may mean that your child gets less cranky by the day as he/she gets more involved in the hobby.
6. Amuse your child instantly
Toddlers or infants who are cranky can be controlled with a little bit of amusement and distraction. Put on some music, give your child some interesting toys to play with or sing a lullaby which will create a soothing atmosphere and put an end to all the crankiness.
7. Take your child outdoors
Everyone needs some fresh air at regular intervals. Being indoors for a prolonged period of time may have made your child irritable. Try taking your child out for a walk in the park or to the beachfront for a stroll and see what difference it makes.
8. Design a proactive schedule for your child
If your child is becoming cranky because of boredom and lack of things to do, you can regulate your child’s schedule. Plan a schedule which includes a healthy dose of activities, sleep, meals and leisure times. Get your kids to follow the schedule to keep them occupied.
