5. Stews
A traditional Halloween stew has a lot of vegetables and greens in it. Turnip green leaves or collards, mushrooms, purple onions, pinto beans, black beans, green beans and a bit of meat can all be added to the stew with seasoning. Normally these stews are given spooky names in keeping with the Halloween spirit.
6. Nuts
Nuts have also been long associated with Halloween. You can either roast nuts or use nuts in the other dishes that you make.
7. Scary cupcakes
Although cupcakes are a fairly new addition to the Halloween cuisine, they nevertheless have formed an integral part of Halloween. Cupcakes are great as they let you come up with a great many ideas for the toppings. There are so many things that can go as toppings that you will never be short in supply for years.
8. Branback
It is a traditional Irish dish and is a fruit cake that has a ring, a thimble or a coin inside it. While a ring signifies marriage and love, a thimble signifies poverty and the coin richness. If you are buying the cake in the store all that you will find is the ring.
Although the Irish brought Halloween to America, the holiday has become truly American now with its own traditions and treats.
