7 Ways to Remove Hair Dye from Skin
Although it’s unfortunate to have a hair dye stain on your skin, it is quite common that some amount of dye makes its way to your forehead or neck. Perhaps, a few drops may have trickled down to your hand. It is not a case of panic for here are some tried-and-tested techniques to remove hair dye from skin.
1. Use the dye itself
Like people say, only a diamond can cut a diamond; hair dye can help in removing its stain. While you take a shower, rub leftover hair dye with soap on the stained parts of skin in circular motion. Wash these areas with soap or shampoo immediately and wipe clean. The stains must come off clean.
2. Olive oil can do some magic
Soak a ball of cotton in olive oil and gently rub it on the stained surface until the color begins to fade. Although, these may not produce instant clean results; the tip is safe and effective and also nourishes skin that has been dried by hair dye.
3. Have you tried nail polish remover?
This can only be tried by those that do not have sensitive skin. A wee bit of nail polish remover dabbed on a ball of cotton when rubbed on the hair dye stain will begin to remove it clearly. Use clean cotton balls as the older ones get stained to avoid spreading on other areas of skin.
4. Now, let’s bleach
Take a clean piece of cloth and soak it in hydrogen peroxide. Peroxide is a natural bleaching agent and gently rubbing the stained area with the cloth will help to remove discoloration. Make sure you wash your hands and the stained surface with water and soap thereafter.
