7 Tips to Spend Less Time in the Kitchen
5. Clean your kitchen smartly
Leaving large spills or pan crusts to be cleaned after you finish your meal can be disastrous. Such stains tend to become harder as time passes and they make you spend more time cleaning. Clean such stains as you are cooking so that you don’t have to scrub them away later.
6. Delegate chores
Delegating tasks in the kitchen is one of the best ways of saving time. You don’t need to be a superwoman and attempt all the chores yourself. If your kids are helping you with unloading the dishwasher, your husband can help you stack the groceries or do some chopping. Allocate chores according to everyone’s comfort level.
7. Clear all your crusted pans with warm water or left over stock
If you are caramelizing meats or other veggies, your pans are likely to be crusted at their base. This crust can be very difficult to clean if it is exposed to air for more than a few minutes. To avoid this and spend less time in the kitchen, pour lukewarm water or left over stock into the pan after you take the food off the pan. This will loosen the crusting and help you clean the pans more easily.
