7 Signs Your Teenager is Using Drugs
5. A sudden change in friend circle
If you find your teenage daughter or son hanging out with a different set of friends, then it could be a cause for worry. If you do not approve the kind of company your child keeps, then be pro-active and take necessary measures. Know that peer pressure and the need to fit in are some of the reasons why kids start taking drugs.
6. Finding paraphernalia
A sure tell sign of a teenager who is into drugs is if you find things like pipes, rolling papers, soda cans, lighters, little baggies, vials, etc. in the room. Also, in order to hide the smoky smell of drugs, the child may light incense sticks, use a room freshener or a deodorizer. If you notice any of such things in your child’s room, then be very alert and keep a close watch.
7. Physical signs
There are a number of physical and health related warning signs that can indicate if your ward has started taking drugs. If he or she has bloodshot eyes or frequent nosebleeds, then it is a red flag. Also, if you find a noticeable change in appetite or sleep patterns of your kid, then you must not take this lightly. If your child is into drugs, then you will also notice a lack in his/her personal grooming. Furthermore, if your teenager has minor injuries on his or her body but has no clue how he/she got them, then you must see this as a warning sign. If your child has seizures, tremors, impaired coordination, incoherent speech, etc. then he or she may be having a drug problem.
