7 Must Know Facts about Suncreens
5. Experts recommend minimum SPF 30
Despite the fact that FDA recommends that you should use a sunscreen product with a minimum Sun Protection Factor of 15, most experts and dermatologists are known to recommend using products that have at least SPF 30. Sunscreen products with a SPF of 30 can block up to 97% of the sun’s radiation.
6. Sunscreen does not give you all day protection
Do you apply sunscreen when you go out in the morning and forget about it for the rest of the day? If you are going to be outside, experts recommend that you should ideally reapply sunscreen every two hours.
7. Sunscreen does not provide complete protection against the sun
It is a myth that sunscreen provides complete and total protection against the sun’s rays. Don’t be under the false impression that applying sunscreen will make you immune to all the potentially harmful ultraviolet rays. Sunscreen products with SPF 15 or more are known to block out some of the harmful radiation but do not guarantee immunity against ailments including skin cancer which is caused by the sun’s rays.
