7 Internet Safety Tips for Kids Which You Must Care About
5. Avoid giving out personal information
Giving out personal information like passwords, credit card information and phone numbers anywhere is always a bad idea. You never know what those with malicious intentions might do with such information. Tell your kid that this is one thing he/she is not supposed to do ever, especially online! Also, tell him/her to make sure to uncheck the ‘remember password’ option if he/she logs in on a computer that is not his/hers.
6. Use trusted payment gateways
Tell your kid to use services like PayPal, or whatever service you think is safe to pay for stuff online and never enter such sensitive information on any other website. You never know if that information will get phished!
7. Lock your photos and videos
If your kid uses any social networking website, make sure you tell him to update his/her security settings, or update it yourself for him/her, so that his/her pictures and videos are accessible only to his/her friends and are not open to all.
These security tips are vital for your kid for a safe surfing time!
