7 Interesting Thanksgiving Facts
5. The date was once changed

He felt that doing so would increase the Christmas shopping by a week and could potentially boost the economy. However, the desired effect didn’t happen, and there was quite a lot of confusion amongst a few states, so the Thanksgiving holiday went back to being on the fourth Thursday of November in a couple of years again.
6. No forks at the first Thanksgiving!
Forks weren’t invented till 10 years after the first Thanksgiving dinner. This means that the Pilgrims only used spoons and knives during that dinner. Forks only became popular around the 18th century.
