5. The Vodka belt
The countries Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, certain Nordic and Baltic countries, and parts of Slovakia and Hungary are collectively known as the Vodka Belt because of the large amount of vodka consumption in these areas.
6. Vodka has plenty of other benefits other than being able to make you drunk.
Vodka is an excellent disinfectant; it can be used to wash razor blades, clean bathroom mirrors and tiles. Of course, the deal is pretty expensive!
7. Used to make gun powder
In fifteenth century Sweden, vodka was used to make gunpowder. And, 1 liter of vodka weighs 953 grams of gun powder and not 1 Kg, as you might think!
