7 Airplane Etiquette Rules to Remember
5. Don’t hog the armrest
The rule of armrest etiquette dictates that the one in the middle gets to have both the armrests while the one on the side of the aisle and the one beside the window should make do with one. This is because there is a little more freedom of movement for the others as compared to the one in the middle so be kind, not greedy.
6. Don’t crowd the aisle
Keep going until you find your seat number and when you do, don’t just stand there right in the middle of the line to store baggage and talk to others. You have no right to block the way for other passengers behind you who are also waiting to get to their seats. Make space for them to pass by and upload the baggage as quickly as possible, after which you should sit immediately.
7. Use the overhead space only above your seat
It’s selfish to hog others’ space as well, beside your own, to store your luggage. It creates chaos and unnecessary confusion and fights. Take a small bag only inside the airplane that is able to fit in the space given to you. Carry only very essential items in that bag.
