7 Advantages and Disadvantages of Living Alone
5. Independence and sense of responsibility
Living alone teaches you independence and develops in you a sense of responsibility. If you are not living alone, you always take a lot of things for granted. But when you are alone, you need to take care of your health yourself and there is no one to remind you of it. You need to pay your bills on time and you need to clean up your room and dishes yourself.
6. Boring life
Living alone may be fun, but it also comes with its share of disadvantages. Your life becomes boring unless you are otherwise involved in a lot of activities. You, at times, will crave to really do something about it, but being alone can sometimes draw your enthusiasm from things like going out for a walk or cooking a meal for yourself.
7. Lack of company
One major issue with living alone is that you lack company and how. Friends are there, but we human beings need more than just friends. We need parents, we need siblings, we need life partners – but when you live alone, you deliberately let go of physical contact with almost every relationship. Even if you call home and talk to your parents and siblings once in a while, when you are alone, you sometimes crave for someone to have dinner or watch a movie with.
Though living alone has many advantages and disadvantages, there is nothing to guarantee that a married life or not staying alone will give you a much better life or one you will revel in or that it will have no disadvantage at all. At the end of the day, it is an individual choice whether one wants to live alone or not. And living alone is definitely something worth a try.
