6 Ways to Save for a Vacation
4. Adding to the piggy bank
Now if you add an equal amount to the change you put into the piggy bank, you will have more money. This requires a lot from you. Not money, but the resistance to not put money and the resistance to avoid temptation and take money out. It is easy to dig a few quarters to do the laundry than go and get it in a store.
5. Saving Air miles
If you are someone who travels for work a lot, save all those air miles and keep them for your long vacation instead of using them up for short trips. If there is a way someone could transfer theirs to you, go for it. Or you can just buy air miles from the airlines. They are cheaper and will pile up eventually.
6. Resisting the temptation to shop for more
If you already have two pairs of near identical black shoes and see another pair in the shop; resist the temptation. Rather think of the things you can buy with it on your vacation or another possible place you could visit with that money.
Once you set your mind to it and start saving, you get used to it and you won’t feel like you are making any special effort to save for the vacation.
