6 Ways to Make Someone Trust You Again After You Broke Their Trust
In this world where everyone has their guards up at all times, it is not easy for people to genuinely trust each other. Once you do win the trust of someone, if you happen to break it unknowingly or knowingly, it is difficult to gain back the lost trust. As they say, trust is like a mirror, once broken, it can be fixed but it won’t be the same again. There are some ways by which you can get back into the good books of the person whose trust you betrayed, that are listed here.
1. Have tremendous amounts of patience
Firstly, you need to have lots of patience and the readiness to sacrifice within yourself. Just saying sorry a couple of times isn’t going to make the person come back to you. If they tell you to do something then do it. It is a slow, painful process and your patience would determine and make the other person realize how important the relationship is for you in your life.
2. Apologize with all sincerity
You have to come across as sincere in your apologies. You cannot apologize and tell them you are miserable without them and then go to a party to enjoy. Obviously that person will not take you seriously. Don’t hold back your emotions of guilt and sadness; show them how remorseful you feel and in time they would melt.
3. Ask for how you can make it up to them
Let them dictate how you should make it up to them. If they say something like leave me alone in anger, don’t take it very seriously and actually leave them, for that will end the relationship once and for all. Suggest their favorite things to do and ask that should you make it up to them in this way or that. However, don’t keep the unrealistic expectations of making everything go exactly back to how it was; there will always be a little distance and you have to learn to accept that.
