4. Apply the appropriate tone to your email

Tone of business emails need to be confident, appropriate, courteous and sincere. It matters what kind of impression the tone of the email leaves on the reader’s mind. The tone of the mail shouldn’t be rude or too polite, it should be formal and subjective.

5. Use emphasis

Whenever you want to emphasize on an important idea, use passive construction, write in simple and short sentences and then elaborate the idea a little further. This will also reflect your ability to organize your ideas.

6. Avoid use of sexist language

Do not assume gender specific roles and responsibilities. It is not necessary that higher level official is a man; a higher level official could also be a woman. Even if you do not know the reader’s gender, you may write dear sir/ma’am or to whosoever it may concern.
