6 Tips To Pack Your Suitcase Smartly
4. Pack Your Hand Baggage Smartly
Airlines do not let you carry liquids and sharp objects in hand baggage, so ensure that you don’t have any such objects with you on-board. But you must keep basic things such as a small towel, a toothbrush, wet tissues and other essentials with yourself to help you in times of emergency and need. Of course, there are exceptions when traveling with infants and kids. In such cases, pack the baby’s diapers, food and other necessary things in a small bag that you can carry with you in the plane. Keep the items in that bag exclusively for the baby, so that while security check, necessary liquids in that bag are allowed, instead of keeping them in your bag where there is a chance of them not being allowed.
5. Labels And Safety
Always keep a photocopy of your passport and travel or health insurance in each of your bags, so that in case you lose out on official documents from one bag, you still have the photocopies in other bags for back up. Put name and address tags on top, so that you can spot the bags easily on the conveyer belt amongst other bags. Also put such tags inside the bags, so that in case the top labels come off and your bag gets lost, the airline authorities can still have a way of finding out whose luggage it is.
6. Avoid Common Mistakes
A very common mistake that people do is to pack everything in a manner that the most necessary stuff goes down at the bottom. Avoid this. Keep dirty clothes at the bottom, and the most used stuff at the top. This way, you don’t need to take all the stuff out from your bag always, as the most used stuff will be easily accessible on the top. Also try and avoid wrapping gifts in cardboard packing and wrapping paper, unless absolutely necessary. This is because the packing might take extra space, and might also be ripped off at security check in some cases.
