6 Tips to Make Walking on the Treadmill More Fun
4. Add variations
A lot of treadmill machines have slant or incline options, and preset speed options, which let you choose patterns, such as walking on the hills, or walking on rough ground etc. These presets may bring about variety in your normal walk, and work on your calf muscles really well. So bring in some variety, and challenge yourself. With a newer experience, your chances of feeling bored will be lesser.
5. Watch TV alongside
If you have a treadmill at home, and feel bored walking on it alone, then maybe you can do the walk while watching your favorite TV program. That’ll stop you from looking at the timer on the treadmill constantly, and as soon as your show ends, you’ll feel really proud of being able to achieve the walk.
6. Read a book
Some people like to mark goals on the book they’ve been recently reading. For instance, they want to finish fifteen pages of the book as they walk alongside. This kind of an activity can keep you occupied and entertained as you walk on the treadmill. You can even watch web casts or online shows on a tablet or any other portable device.
If none of these things seem to work for you, then there is something even better that you can try. You can always take a walk outdoors! Plus, being in a natural environment might suit your body better.
