4. Don’t take sides among your colleagues
On the first day, you meet different colleagues; you closely interact with people in your department. On the lunch table you will hear a lot of gossip, rumors and slander, don’t give your opinion or take sides, you might find yourself in a clout.
5. Try to mingle with your colleagues
Be polite, professional and friendly and don’t just stick to one person. Don’t ask them too many personal questions. Begin with small talk and try to make yourself amicable.
6. Be proactive
When your boss asks you to do something, don’t look confused and act like it’s your first day so you can’t do anything. Ask questions, but make attempts to do what is asked. You will be appreciated for your efforts.
