4. Shakespeare wasn’t a graduate
Most workplaces these days require one to be a graduate. It’s a good thing this wasn’t a criterion back in the old days. Shakespeare only attended grammar school.
5. Shakespeare coined several words and phrases
Words and phrases that are often used today were created by the Bard himself. He was credited for being the first to use the word ‘assassination’ in his plays and coined phrases like ‘all that glitters is not gold’, ‘dead as a doornail’, ‘love is blind’, etc. In other words, Shakespeare was a true modern writer.
6. Shakespeare is capable of curses too!
That may be hard to believe, but a curse is actually engraved on Shakespeare’s tombstone located at Trinity Church in Stratford-upon-Avon. It goes something like this: ‘Curst be he that moves my bones!’
