6 Important Things Your Child Must Know During an Emergency
4. First Aid
Teach your kid basic first aid activities. If he falls and breaks an ankle, teach him/her what to do, and what not to do until help arrives. It is best to teach your child how to use Band-Aids and antiseptic skin creams too. Keep the information detailed and explain everything carefully. A curious kid may invite danger.
5. Friends and Family
It is also a good idea to let your child know a few of your close friends’ and relatives’ houses/phone numbers. If at all an emergency occurs and he/she isn’t able to contact you, your child can turn to them.
6. Basic Rules
Even before you begin to prepare your child for an emergency, make sure you teach him/her certain basic ground rules. Not talking to strangers, not staying out late at night, and telling you where he/she is going and how to reach him/her before your child leaves the house are some of the things that can help your child stay out of trouble.
