6 Health Hazards in Your Handbag
4. Not washing the purse
If you wash your clothes, undergarments, bed sheets, curtains and even table covers regularly, don’t you think that it’s imperative to clean the very item that you use and depend on everyday? Unfortunately, many women overlook the importance of washing their handbag weekly and never really clean it. Thus dirt, germs, fungi, bacteria and such other harmful elements keep accumulating.
5. Lead
Scientific research has found out that a majority of women’s handbags are known to contain lead. This harmful element can result in cardiac and brain related problems if humans are exposed to it for a long time. Especially, beware of bags made of plastic and vinyl, since they have been discovered to be as the worst offenders for carrying lead within them.
6. Nail file and cell phones
Since the primary use of nail files is to remove excess nails, if it’s stored back inside the bag with all the other items, don’t be surprised if you find fungi growing. The same goes for the cell phones. These gadgets are constantly touching our ears and skin so if they are stored among other stuff, bacteria and germs will catch on quick, leading to skin problems.
