If turning 40 was not enough of a strain in this youth and image obsessed world we live in, dating at this age can be at times pretty trying. The Big 40, as it’s called, is just a number, but the baggage it brings to single women in their forties can be pretty nerve racking and daunting. Women make ‘dating’ mistakes at all ages, the expectations involved, the preparations, the anxiety all combine to make it difficult before going out on a date and it becomes magnified when you are in your forties.
1. Settling far too soon
More mature, and usually settled at work and other things in life, you look for a companion with similar tastes and sensibilities and let us admit, it always takes men a couple of decades to catch up with us and getting tired of looking for that perfect one we settle for whoever is willing to stay.
2. Succumbing to pressure
The pressure to find someone before it’s too ‘late’ builds itself to a crescendo around this time, and there is a sense of desperation to find that someone and make it work, even if it is all wrong for you.
3. Not being yourself
It’s the time when you are confident in yourself and your body, so we need to make the most of it.. Never stop being yourself. Make the cougar experience more exciting.
