This is an ongoing series by Charlaine Harris and is the basis for the HBO feature True Blood. The novel is based on the premise that we humans actually inhabit the world with other supernatural creatures. It is written so well that you actually start thinking if there might be a bit of truth to the fiction. Even if there has been ten books till date, you can but wait with expectation over the remaining three.
5. Twilight Series
Stephanie Meyer became a cult figure after writing this series with a huge legion of fans that comprised of both teenagers and adults. It created a sensation that almost equalled that of the Harry Potter series. The twilight books are a chronicle of the love between the protagonists, a human and a Vampire and the trials they face to stay together. It is hugely popular and has made stars out of its lead characters in the movie.
6. Lost Souls
In direct contrast to the twilight series, the lost Souls was published to much critical acclaim in its projection of teenage angst. It is about a teenager who goes in search of his Vampire heritage and about his voyage of self discovery. It seamlessly creates cohesiveness between reality and fantasy. One of the must reads in the Vampire genre.
