4. Philosophy and Religious studies
There are not many openings in this field and even if you do manage to find something, the compensation is enough to make you regret having decided to study these in college. There are a lot of people doing something totally different after majoring in philosophy and religious studies.
5. Music
You can teach music, play in an orchestra or be incredibly lucky and become a renowned musician. Teaching music pays peanuts if it is not in a prestigious institution and not many can afford private tuition. Playing in an orchestra does not pay you a steady income and it is highly competitive. Your best bet is to get lucky and become a famous musician or play with someone famous.
You may choose to major in something because of your ideologies or because you like it a lot.
But sadly your ideologies and dreams crash when you realize you can’t survive in the world with them. So choose a degree that would help you survive and then you can follow your dreams. Nothing is sadder than having spent years studying something and then doing something you hate to pay for it. So choose wisely.
