5 Tips to Date Successfully After a Long Break
4. Re-position your attitude
This is probably one of the hardest things to do when you are dating after a long time. For so long your partner was the only man you had in your life, the rest were just ‘people’. But now, things are different. The single father who plays with his kids in the yard next to you, or the colleague you chat with at the water cooler – are all prospective dates. Quit being the friendly neighbor or co-worker you’ve always been to them. Now is the time to be the amazing woman that you are. Before you know, people will start asking you out.
5. Talk to the kids
If you have kids from your partner/husband you might want to discuss, albeit sparingly, that you have a personal life apart from being their mom. Studies have found it’s always better to have the kids keyed in. This will smooth things out for you in many different ways. You’ll be able to date without any sense of guilt or awkwardness.
