4. His record breaking awards and accolades
Daniel Day-Lewis has been nominated and has won many popular choice and critics awards. He has won three Oscar awards as the Best Actor for My Left Foot in 1989, There Will Be Blood in 2007 and Lincoln in 2012. His last win made him the only male actor in the history of Hollywood to have won three Oscars in the same category. The actor has also won about four BAFTA Awards, two Golden Globes, three Critics’ Choice Movie Awards and three Screen Actors Guild Awards, all for Best Actor in a Leading Role for various movies. To date, he is one of the ten actors who has won all the above mentioned awards for a single role in There Will Be Blood in 2007 and Lincoln in 2012.
