5 Things to Do After You Get Laid Off
4. Explore other opportunities
Explore ways to see if you can turn a hobby into an income source. If you are an amateur photographer, you can find ways to sell your pictures. If you are an avid gardener or can do plumbing, there is definitely no harm in picking up the odd jobs that come your way.
5. Be your own boss
It is not an easy route, but it is not impossible either. There are so many things you can do and be your own boss. You can try opening a small food truck, buy and sell stuff for a profit, do some freelance consulting or use your prior experience to start something similar to your old job.
Getting laid off does not mean you lose everything. Do not take it personally for layoffs are mostly beyond your control. Look at being laid off as a sign to start something new. The important thing is to take some time off to think and look ahead.
