5 Secrets to a Good Night’s Sleep
4. Avoid caffeine
If you’re into the habit of taking a snack before going to bed, then that is a bad habit. Avoid things like chocolate or coffee. Caffeinated products act as stimulants and are excellent for keeping us awake. Alcohol also has a similar effect. While it may make you feel drowsy, it does not really allow you to sleep.
5. Don’t overeat
If you have a big meal planned, keep it for lunch. Dinner should be light. It is always more comfortable to sleep in a sufficiently filled tummy. If you’re starving or if you overeat, there is a natural discomfort which will not let you sleep peacefully. If after the light dinner you feel hungry before going to bed, have a light snack like one vegetable sandwich.
