5 Reasons Why You Should Think About Your Children Before a Divorce
4. Growing up with one parent
One of the outcomes of a divorce is that children become destined to be deprived of one of their parents’ love in their growing years. They can visit that parent on weekends and holidays but that is not the same as living with both parents full time. If your children were to live with you after your divorce, would you be able to bring them up all by yourself? Would you be able to fill in their father’s shoes? It is important to think of these things before you call it quits in your marriage.
5. Risking psychological problems in children as they grow up
Research studies have found that children from broken homes can be prone to more psychological problems when they grow up as compared to children from secure homes. This may not mean that your children are sure to face psychological problems if you get divorced, but are you willing to take the risk? Would you rather come to a compromise with your husband for the sake of your kids or would you seek your own happiness at the cost of your kids’ mental health?
