4. “I need some space”
Read between lines, this exactly means that he’s bored of you now and doesn’t want to go on with a relationship where he’s not gaining anything. Maybe you were fun for a while, but his interests have probably shifted and yours should too. Harsh it sounds, but it’s true and as soon as you accept this, the more good it is going to do.
5. “You’re too good for me” AKA “I’m not good enough for you”
Sly and lame, this excuse is nothing like it sounds. No one can have such a low opinion of themselves, so don’t believe this one. Simply retort, “Now that you mention, I have been feeling the same way from a long time. You were just a bad mistake, and I hope I would be able to forgive myself in the next ten years at least, if not less!”
So the next time some coward breaks up with you over a foolish reason, the best thing to do would be to brush it off with a flip of your attitude. Clinging to a person would only make them resent you more, and surely you don’t want to be ridiculed or lose your self respect.
