5 Foods Low In Carbs

Carbs are your worst enemy! Most of the time that is. As essential carbohydrates are for survival, taking them even in a tad excess amount leads to ugly weight gain. Read on to find about foods that are low in carbs, hence extremely good for you.

1. Salads

Not the salads with a lot of mayonnaise, or boiled potatoes or rice! The ones with a vinaigrette dressing, or based in olive oil with fresh fruits and vegetables, boiled egg (no yolk) or chicken and so on are really good ones. They have ample nutrients and are extremely low in carbs. They are tasty, stomach filling, and never end up making you fat.

2. Grilled/Boiled/Roasted Chicken

Tasty, juicy, and available in a variety of forms! This is one of those food items that you should absolutely rely on if you are looking to only eat food which are low in carbs. Always remember, chicken is your next best friend after dog, but if you fry it, it is as good as useless.

3. Steamed/Boiled/Grilled Fish

Fishes have so many good nutrients instilled in them, and are not so high on carbs. If done well, they are extremely delicious and filling as well. They are ideal for consumption whilst going on a low carb diet.

4. Dairy

If you consume skimmed milk, and the products that derive from that variety– yogurt, cottage cheese– you are giving your body everything that it needs without a lot of unnecessary carbohydrates. But always make sure the dairy products that you consume have undergone the process of skimming.

5. Fresh fruits and Vegetables

Broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, carrots, radish, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, apples, apricots– the list is endless. Almost all fruits and vegetables (except for potatoes, mangoes, etc.) are low in carbs, high in vitamins and minerals. So gorge on them, and never feel guilty.

This covers almost all the foods that are low in carbs and high in taste, stomach filling and appealing at the same time. Who says you have to starve yourself to achieve that fab body? Just eat right!
