5 Facts About Anti-Perspirants
4. Classified as drugs
You may be surprised to know that although you can buy antiperspirants from supermarkets, they are classified as drugs by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Interestingly deodorants are classified as cosmetics and not antiperspirants.
5. Can stain your clothes
Since antiperspirants may contain an aluminum based formula, they can make your clothes turn slightly yellow around the armpit area if it comes into contact with your skin. If you notice that your t-shirts are changing color around your armpit area, you could blame it on your antiperspirant and not the quality of your t-shirt. In fact, one of the first antiperspirants ever released in America was reportedly banned because its chemicals ate through the clothing.
