Tips to Lose Weight With an Exercise Ball

When you hear the word ball, your mind thinks of fun and childhood playtime. But the great news is that you can still have fun with the ball. Go and grab a good and supportive exercise ball to get some great workout sessions. So here’s how you can lose weight with exercise ball:

1. Exercise ball is great for overall toning of the muscles of the entire body. Toned muscles can help you burn more calories, besides giving a firm look to your body, making you look slim and flab-free.

2. Besides the general toning, you can use the exercise ball for targeting certain spots. You can use the exercise ball to do your squats targeting your thighs and legs. Simply sandwich the ball between your back and a wall. Keep your feet as apart as the width of your hips. Now maintaining contact with the ball, bend down for the squat. Hold your position when your upper thighs are horizontal. Relax and get back. Repeat 10-12 times.

3. You can also use the exercise ball to get rid of that extra abdominal fat. Use the ball to do abdominal crunches. Lie on the back in such a way that your middle back touches the ball. Keep your feet firmly flat on the floor. Now slowly try to do the abdominal crunch, but please make sure that you don’t use your neck or take help of your hands. Ensure that your hands are behind the head. Use abdominal muscles to come up. Hold your position. Relax and go back. Repeat 8-10 times.

4. For best results, mix up your exercise ball routine with a cardio exercise plan. That way your body will respond better to the workouts.

You can use the exercise ball in a variety of other ways to target the areas that you want. But there are certain precautions you should keep in mind. First of all, use a good quality exercise ball. Also consult your doctor or professional physical trainer before starting any exercise according to your current health and age. Wish you all the best!
