4 Reasons Why Samsung GALAXY Phones are Selling Like Hotcakes
3. The OS
Samsung, unlike Nokia which relied on Symbian for too long before switching loyalties to Windows OS, bet on the Android OS as the preferred platform mobile platform for its GALAXY phones. Sure it made a few noises with trying to launch its own OS (called bada) – a foray that did not meet with much success. The smart company did not get wedded to its failures (unlike Microsoft which simply can’t let go off Zune no matter what), but recognized that users (except for those hooked on iOS of their iPhones) clearly preferred Android on their phones. Since then the Samsung-Android partnership has paid rich dividends to both the companies and they have been laughing all the way to the bank!
4. The marketing
You would think that Samsung must devote most of its money for cutting edge R&D to stay ahead of the curve in the ever-hot smartphone market. Right? Wrong! Samsung has probably one of the largest budgetary allocations to marketing – a strategy that has paid off in the number of devices the company is able to sell quarter after quarter. Where on the one hand it is able to appeal to the youth with GALAXY Y, on the other hand it appeals to the corporate guy who likes his phone to be almost like a tablet with the GALAXY Note. There is intelligent customer targeting behind its strategies and Samsung has its marketing department to thank for the success of its GALAXY phones as much as it does its R&D division.
