4 Reasons Why Men Talk Less Than Women
3. Role models for men talk less too
No matter what culture they belong to or which country they live in, there’s a universal code for children growing up. Dads are the role models for the male child; moms are for the female child. When a boy grows up consciously or unconsciously he follows the characteristics of his father – a grown man who is usually less talkative than mom. As a result, most male children tend to talk lesser than female children.
4. Men tend to rely more on physical action for expression
Picture this in your mind – dudes having an argument inside a pub. End result: Usually, a few punches to each other’s face and maybe a bit of manhandling. Now imagine this – girls having an argument inside a pub. End result: Usually, lots of shouting, name calling and, in the worst case scenario, beer/cocktail throwing in each other’s face. This is not a one-off incident, this is a pattern. Men are more physical action-oriented than women. There’s a reason why physical abuse is called manhandling! Men tend to express themselves less verbally than women. A grunt, a smirk, a touch, or maybe a punch – these come easily to a man than taking all the pain to verbalize how he feels.
