3. Lily and Marshall’s after life didn’t seem convincing
The after life of lily and Marshall was also disappointing in the end. There was not a single scene of their after life in Italy. It was shown that Marshall hated his job as a corporate lawyer and in the end, he was shown as the supreme court judge. This is really hard to digest. The same fact was for Lily. There was not a single mention of her love for creative art and culture. The end showed that she is well settled with three children now, which is good. But, earlier writers had shown her deep desire to be something in life. That was also missing from the end of ‘How I Met Your Mother’.
4. There was lack of attention to detail
This was the story of present day Ted. But, in the finale, Ted was still stuck in the past. All the different characters had a story to tell. The finale was really disappointing because it lacked attention to detail in many parts. The after life of many characters was shown in a hurry.
For a show which had nine successful seasons to its credit, such rushing through the finale is simply not acceptable. The justification of characters was rushed through the finale. This is the biggest disappointment for all the die-hard fans of the show. The finale was tad boring with all the happily after effect thingy. The final scene between Ted and Robin was also out of place.
All said and done, the ending of ‘How I Met Your Mother’ is surely the worst end ever in the history of any successful sitcom show. Because of this, the show also received flak from online media community.
