4 Reasons Why Compatibility is Important in a Relationship
You might have heard that opposites attract and that your differences bring you together as a couple and make things more fun. However, what you might not have heard in that context is that too much of an opposition tears a relationship apart. Compatibility is extremely important in a relationship.
1. Picture this, your guy wants you to be a stay at home mom because he absolutely wants kids and is completely against the idea of nannies. You on the other hand are an ambitious career woman and cannot put everything down for about 5 years. And you guys are madly in love. But where does that leave you? Love in itself is never enough if there is no compatibility.
2. Isn’t that why Robin and Ted broke up in the famous ‘How I met your Mother?’ Because they were incompatible?! Being compatible helps you lead your life together towards a common place where you guys can be happy. If you guys want similar things in life and the vision you have of your partners is essentially like who they really are, nothing could be better. There would be challenges of course, but you guys would come out of it, because in the end, fundamentally, you would have the same perspective.
3. Being compatible also translates to being understanding. That, you must know, is good for any relationship. Because both of you think about the same result, even if you have different lines of thought, you guys would have no trouble understanding the other because of a common objective. Picture this, you guys want to zero in on whether the 2 of you would have a small wedding or a grand wedding. If you guys were incompatible, you guys would fight for ages and then one of you would have to sacrifice. If you guys shared, on the other hand, common views, you guys would not take a long time to come to a conclusion with which both of you would be happy.
4. Not only does being compatible resolve a lot of problems, it makes communicating easier, handling expectations simpler and overall makes life so much better. Love is a mighty force that changes you, but in life, love is simply not enough. Then again, maybe true love actually makes you compatible! Bottom line is if you are in a relationship, deeply in love and you are compatible, never mess it up.
