11. The adjoining Olympic Park is one of the largest parks built in Europe in a period of 150 years. More than 400 trees have been planted in the park. Queen Elizabeth planted the first tree in October, 2009.
12. This will be the third time that the city of London will be hosting the Olympics Games. It has hosted the Olympics twice before – in 1908 and in 1948.
13. More than 20,000 press and media representatives will be attending the 2012 London Olympics.
14. For the event, about 6 miles of new roads, 9000 new houses and 3600 apartments will be built.
15. A total of 124 miles of cables will be used for setting up underground power lines. 124 miles is also the distance between London and Nottingham.

20. During each day of the actual event, a work force of 200,000 will be required, 18 million meals will have to be prepared and there would be an additional £2.1 billion profit to the European tourism industry.
