11 Best New Years Resolutions
7. Get into a relationship
This year, get into a relationship, if you are single, that is. Go on a hunt for Mr Perfect. Put yourself out there but do not hurry. Don’t get into a relationship just for the sake of it. It’s hard work through and through. So make sure you have met the right guy before you make a move. Or else worst case scenario, you might end up with a lunatic you can’t get rid of. Take your time, choose wisely and you’ll do fine.
8. Be honest and straightforward
We have learnt since we were 2 feet tall that lying is bad. Then why do we still do it? Make up your mind to be nothing but honest and truthful, to others as well as to yourself. Do not hesitate to speak your mind. Be honest and frank. If your chemistry with your boyfriend is dead, tell it to him and break it off. If you like someone, do not complicate things. Just go up to him and let him know what you feel because he cannot read your mind. Do not beat around the bush.
9. Spend more time with family
Time has come when you should realize that you have spent enough evenings hanging at malls with your friends. You should remember that your family too needs you. Resolve to spend more time with your family. If your parents live far away, save money for a flight ticket and go see them during holidays.
10. Make someone smile
Take a resolution that you will make at least one person smile each day. For example, help your child with his/her homework, cook your sweetheart his favorite food, wash the dishes for your mother or give up your seat to an aged person when there are no more seats on the bus. Be kind and loving. By doing such good deeds, you will make them happy and will feel good about yourself too.
11. Count your blessings
Do not crib this year. Be happy with what you have. Smile always. Whenever you feel sad, don’t forget that someone somewhere is unhappier than you. Take a resolution that you will quit complaining and take a chill-pill when stressed. Keep your mind calm and cool because you know that panic will not help. Be thankful for what you have been given. Smile at the face of trouble and learn to be happy. Even that is an art.
Now go on and start afresh already. Time is ticking. Have a wonderful and fruitful year ahead.
