Be clear about your skills and qualifications. If you are a graduate, write down the area of specialization and university rather than just stating that you are a graduate.

Selling yourself is one thing. But excessive trumpeting of your virtues never helps to sell yourself. Be measured and professional when you write about your qualities.

8. Adding unrelated information

There is no need to have a CV that runs into multiple pages. Provide only the information that matters.

Everybody knows the importance (or lack of it) of mission statements. But, keep them short and engaging.

10. Adding commonplace tasks as skills

Be careful when proclaiming your skills. A skill should be something that is universally accepted as a skill. Never claim that your know Internet browsing. Most people these days do.
