10 Ways To Practice Good Hygiene
6. Keep it clean between the legs
All girls have a unique natural smell. Yep, you know what I’m talking about. This smell is healthy, natural and is a part of the woman’s body. There is continuous discharge of fluids and oils – don’t worry this is natural. I suggest that you rinse your external genitals and vaginal areas with warm water and a mild soap. Take this clothing tip – Wear cotton underpants, avoid prolonged use of wet bathing suits, and avoid wearing leather pants or spandex for long periods of time. Clean hygiene will also go a long way if you make it a point to change clothes after working out in the gym or any other strenuous activity.
7. Keep facial area clean
Here’s another personal hygiene tip. The face says a lot about a person’s hygiene standards. Agree with this one? I suggest that you wash your face regularly with mild cleansers. This will keep acne away and also remove the build up of dirt and other impurities. This will also prevent oily skin and clogging of pores on your face and nose. Avoid those nasty blackheads.
8. Keep odor away
Whether we like it or not, our bodies have a natural mechanism of secreting fluids – in form of oils, sweat, and other discharges. Don’t you hate it when sweat makes you feel conscious? Unless you suffer from excessive sweating, there are ways to limit the effects of sweat. Get your hygiene basics right – always wear clean clothes, bathe properly, and use a good deodorant. I recommend spending those extra few minutes under the shower to look after places that you may normally overlook – in between of your toes, and hard to reach places of your back. I love scrubbers! Every now and then, I spend half an hour more in the bath to scrub my body from head to toe. This removes dirt, dead skin cells, opens up all the pores and rejuvenates my body. You can try this out too.
9. Take care of your nails
A lot of dirt and residue is collected below the nails. It’s bad for you and it’s bad for others! Germs and bacteria travel with you to all the places you touch, and food you prepare or handle. Trim your nails regularly. If you like to keep your nails long, make sure you keep them clean all the time. I have heard horror stories of infections on toe nails. It is gross, dirty and painful. Ouch!
10. Make others practice good hygiene
Do you think that your efforts to practice good hygiene are enough to save the day for you and your family? Wrong! Just like one rotten apple can spoil the lot, the habits of one member in the household can affect all the others. Whether it is your partner, children, room mates or parents – make sure they follow healthy practices too. All your hard work and efforts will go waste if they don’t care. I think the best way to do this is to get together and discuss the hygiene requirements of the home. Good hygiene does not come easy. Every one needs to chip in!
You want to protect yourself and your family from illness, don’t you? Practice cleanliness around the house, your workplace, your personal space, and in your own daily routines. Good hygiene practices will keep you physically and emotionally healthy. My take on good hygiene is simple – you just have to do it. There are no two ways about it.
