The idea of God can be quite elusive for children. To make this process easier, here are 10 tips to teach children about God:
1. Have a altar at your home
Kids understand what they see. It is very important for them to ‘see’ God to understand the concept of God. It will be a good idea to have an altar in your house dedicated to God.
2. Read religious books together
There are many simplified and abridged versions of religious books in the market targeting young readers. Read such books together to further introduce ideas about God and religion to your child.
3. Say grace at table
Thank god for the meals before eating. Say grace at table together. Let your child know that we all should be thankful to God for showering us with his blessings.
4. Encourage your child to ‘talk’ to God
Tell him that God is always listening to us. Encourage him to talk to God. A good way to begin would be to start saying prayers together before going to sleep. Make it simple for your child.
