If noise is the reason why you are unable to sleep, try the white noise method. White noise is the neutral sound that you hear when numerous sounds come together. You may get yourself a white noise machine which can help to keep disturbing noises at bay.
7. Control the temperature
In order to have a blissful sleep, your bedroom has to be neither hot nor chilly. It should be warm. So, before you enter your bedroom, make sure you set the right temperature. Switch the thermostat or the air conditioner to the right temperature and snuggle inside your bed sheet for a good sleep.
8. Practice breathing exercises
When you practice breathing exercises, you tend to focus on your breath and eventually your worries, your thoughts and your stress take a back seat. Breathing exercises are quite relaxing and they also induce sleep. You can even meditate or practice some Yoga before you hit the bed for a good night’s sleep.
9. Distract yourself
If you happen to get up from sleep after a few hours, or if you spend a few hours tossing and turning, get out of bed and do something to distract yourself. Watch a boring movie or read a book which totally sucks, so that you get a feeling to chuck it and sleep.
10. Meet your doctor
If nothing of this works, probably you are going through too much stress or might be suffering from depression. Insomnia is a symptom of ill-health. And ill-health needs medical consultation. So seek your doctor’s advice and take pills if they suggest the same.
