Being honest before your children also holds prime importance. Do not flatter your child saying they are the best artist. On the other hand, appreciate their effort and also comment on their shortcomings and guide them through. For example, tell them, “I liked your effort to paint. But, I would have loved your painting if it had a green color for the tree. May be next time you paint a better picture and I would stick it on my wardrobe!” This will encourage them to excel at painting.
