10 Reasons to Avoid Body Piercing
6. It can be painful
Piercing is painful. Even if the pain of actual piercing is reduced by the application of some anesthetic ointment, the pain comes back after the effect is over. In some cases, the pain from the pierced body part can remain for many days.
7. It can be very uncomfortable to live with
In the excitement, you might go ahead and get the piercing done without really thinking about your life post the piercing. The fact is that it can be pretty uncomfortable to live with. For example, when a person gets his tongue pierced, he doesn’t realize how uncomfortable it will be every time he eats, drinks or talks.
8. It can affect your life at a personal level
Some people would not like to be associated with people having piercing done at uncommon places. They might actually be freaked out by tongue piercings, genital piercings and the likes. So it may have an adverse effect on your present and future relationships.
9. In some people’s eyes, you might become a ‘junkie’
Many people associate tattoos and body piercings (with the exception of common ear piercings) with junkies. The moment they see people with piercings at unusual places, the image of drugs and junkie come to their mind.
10. It will not look ‘cool’ always
What looks ‘cool’ at young age will look weird and out of place as you age. As you grow old and mature, your perceptions and opinions change. It will not look ‘cool’ always.
So think it through before going ahead with body piercing.
