Even now the thought of the tragedy that befell the passengers aboard the “Titanic” ship can make us sad. A massive ship, which was built to sustain any type of storm, was hit by an iceberg and shattered. We share some of the interesting facts about this ship that has secured itself a strong place in history.
1. The total cost to build the ship was $7.5 million. The ship was built by 3000 men over a period of two years.
2. The cost of a first class ticket on Titanic was $4200. The first class room had a sitting room, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a private bathroom and a private deck.
3. Most of the people who died in the tragedy belonged to the second and third class despite the fact that almost everyone was wearing a life jacket.
4. It is said that people and crew were not made fully aware of how lifeboats must be used. The boats were lowered in to the water filled only to half its capacity because of which, many lives could not be saved.
