10 Early Symptoms Of Alzheimers Disease

6. Diminished judgment

There are certain things in life that we know we shouldn’t do; like not giving excessive money to beggars or parking the car on the wrong side of the road. But people with Alzheimer’s are unable to take such decisions carefully.

7. Sudden behavioral changes

Mood swings and behavioral changes are common symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease. They may act really suspicious one day and the next they become sad or irritable. They go through a wide variety of emotions like depression, anxiety, confusion, fright, etc. without any given cause.

8. Problems in vision

Problems with sight is another symptom of Alzheimer’s disease. People may be unable to make out the distance between things, have problems in reading and may not figure out colors and contrasts very well.

9. Misplacing things

It’s easy to misplace your car keys. But you remember where you’ve kept them after sometime. For a person with Alzheimer’s, that’s not possible. They might forget where they parked the car in the parking lot, have even misplaced the keys and don’t know whom to contact or what to do about the situation. They might also keep things in the wrong place like an iron in the freezer or a pen in the fish tank.

10. Disinterest in social or professional life

Another early symptom of Alzheimer is that people might slowly not want to attend parties, family functions, dinners and similar events. They may want to withdraw completely in their own world and home. They may show disinterest in going to work or stop pursuing their hobbies as well.

These are the early symptoms of Alzheimer’s. If you or any member of your family have come across any of these symptoms, we suggest you visit the doctor and begin its treatment. At present, there is no cure for Alzheimer’s, but medications may slow down memory loss and have a positive effect on various cognitive skills.
