10 Bad Habits That Affect Your Beauty
Bad habits sometimes stick to us like magnets or rather leeches, as they harm us in the long run. For all those beauty conscious ladies out there, here we present 10 bad habits that affect your beauty. Try and avoid them as far as possible.
1. Not removing makeup before going to bed
This is one of the most common bad habits found in women. Be it to a party or just to hang out with a few friends, women love applying makeup. However, when they come back all tired at night, few are able to drag themselves to the washroom and get rid of all the makeup. Some carelessly wash their faces with plain water and think that it is more than enough. This is really bad for your skin. The particles of the makeup will get accumulated in pores leading to pigmentation and wrinkles.
2. Starving to lose weight
This is the case with many fitness conscious women. The moment they step on the weighing scale and watch the needle going up by a few pounds, you will find them skipping meals. Doing this will deprive you of essential vitamins and nutrients that are essential for the body. The absence of these nutrients can result in premature aging, sagging of the skin, wrinkles, hair loss and graying. Instead of starving, you should consult a dietitian and find a diet that is perfect for you.
3. Eating junk food
Often while traveling, you tend to consume more junk food than you even know. Junk food not only makes you put on excessive weight, but it also affects your hair and skin in the long run. You don’t get any nutrients from junk food. As a result, your body suffers from vitamin deficiency that affects both your health and beauty. Hence, make sure that you choose your food wisely, even while you’re traveling.
4. Not drinking sufficient water
Your body consists of at least 70% of water. When this proportion is not maintained, it results in several health issues. Water cleanses your skin from the inside. So, it helps to get rid of excess oil. Hence, it’s necessary to have at least 8 to 10 glasses of water everyday.
5.Smoking
Apart from the damage that smoking causes to your lungs and mouth, it also results in premature aging. So, each time you pick up a lighter to light that cigarette, just think of the amount of harm it can cause you.
6. Drinking alcohol
Consuming alcohol occasionally is fine, but it also depends how many times these ‘occasions’ come in your life. Excessive and regular intake of alcohol results in various skin problems like acne and wrinkles. It takes off the natural radiance of your skin and makes it sag and appear old. It also expands the blood vessels in your body that cause ugly veins to pop out from your skin.
7. Going out in the sun, without protection
Many think that a sunscreen is required only in summer. However, that is nothing but a myth. Sunscreen should be applied even when you think it is not really sunny. Apart from using a sunscreen with SPF 30 or more, you can also use a hat or a scarf to cover your face and hair. The sun, after all, is not your best friend. Apart from tanning your skin, it also causes premature aging and sun spots.
8. Not sleeping enough
No matter what daily beauty regime you follow or how much makeup you apply, nothing can replace the glow that you get on your face with a good amount of rest. Your skin feels fresh and so do your eyes. After all, beauty sleep is no myth. Hence, see to it that you sleep for at least 8-9 hours daily.
9. Getting Stressed
Many women have a habit of getting excessively stressed out over little things. Stress leads to sleepless nights that can affect your beauty. Apart from that, stress also results in acne, wrinkles, graying and hair loss. Stress can cause you to neglect your health, resort to junk food or even smoking and drinking. As you already know now, these things are bad for beauty.
10. Ignoring skin or hair problems
Many women have this carefree attitude towards the way they look. Only when the problem grows worse is when they start to panic. Often, it becomes too late by then. For example, not looking after extremely oily skin can result in acne. Hence, it is important that you take care of skin or hair problems, the moment they begin to surface.
