Running is a great exercise for human body. It’s something anyone can easily add to their exercise routine. But there are certain things you should keep in mind before you embark on the ‘run’. So here’s a list of 10 tips which will ensure you a good run:

1. Invest in good running shoes

There are different shoes for different kinds of exercises. ‘Brisk walking’ shoes are different from jogging shoes and so on. Wearing the right kind of shoes will go a long way in ensuring that you get a good run besides keeping your feet in good shape. So do some research and invest in a good quality brand.

2. Keep yourself hydrated

Water is very important for you when you are running or doing any other exercise. Ensure that you are keeping yourself hydrated. Drink a good quantity of water some time before you start your running. However, avoid running immediately after drinking. Also, it’s a good idea to take a break in between and sip some water if you feel dehydrated and thirsty.

3. Make the right landing

It’s important that you do not land on your heel which will tire you soon and also have an adverse effect on your speed. Always aim for mid-foot landing, which will be good for a long run. Landing this way also provides great comfort and cushioning to your feet.

4. Take short to medium strides

Taking very long strides will tire you soon and exert a lot of stress on your knees. Taking short to medium strides will ensure that you are exerting less and store more energy for a long run.

5. Maintain a correct posture

It’s very important to maintain a correct posture while running. Don’t slouch or droop.
