6 Tips to Go from Introvert to Extrovert
Introverts often find it hard to accustom to their surroundings because they get easily dominated by extroverted people. Here are a few ways you can go from being an introvert to becoming an extrovert in your personal and professional life.
1. Think before you act
As an introvert, you are likely to react to people and situations in the same way that you have been doing from many years. You will have to make conscious efforts to change this and incorporate extrovert manners in your daily life. For example, if your natural reaction on being complimented is shying and blushing, you will have to change your behavior and say thank you confidently the next time around. It is little things like these that will help you to go from introvert to extrovert.
2. Step outside your comfort zone
Introverts tend to live in their own world and have their own comfort zone. If you want to become an extrovert, it is important for you to step out of your comfort zone and do things that you generally wouldn’t. For example, if you are they type of person who likes to stay in on a Saturday night, make it a point to go out with your buddies on the next weekend. You will feel uncomfortable in the beginning, but as you start doing it more frequently, you will have more fun. This will help you to open up as a person and eventually become extroverted.
3. Observe the characteristics of extrovert people
Watching extroverts closely will help you to learn a lot about their personalities. If you have extroverted friends, colleagues or family members around you, observe the way they talk, behave and interact with everyone. Read their body language and see through their expressions. The more you study extroverted people, the easier it will be for you to adopt their characteristics. For example, if you notice that extrovert people maintain continuous eye contact which makes them come across as confident, you can adopt the same habit too.
