A lot of studies conducted over the years have proved that kids, mostly pre-teens and teenagers start smoking because of peer pressure. They have to look cool and all grown up as it is what their friends do. This could be dangerous as later on they find it really hard to kick the habit.

It is very unusual to find someone to do drugs on their own and do it alone for the first time. The same goes for drinking. They are either initiated into it by their friends or do it for the first time with their group. A sampling in many cases leads to addiction, but a lot actually do not fall for it and keep away too.

Peer pressure is not negative at all times. It can also make you to work harder and do well in college and studies. It can also make you to work towards a better life, where you try and get a better job or do your best to move up the corporate ladder.
